Luke Middlebrook runs through the form of al nine races to be run at Happy Valley in Hong Kong on Thursday.

Race 1: Joy Master bled last start but has since trialled well and can be followed first-up with Moreira and Fownes combining. Happy Ichiban down in class in this race and should perform better based on his sole career win in the grade lasty year. The Full Bloom has had no luck recently and could run a cheeky race. Shanghai Power had betting support last start and where there is smoke there is fire. Humble Steed racing well with good sectional time rankings recently and he could surprise in a race like this.

Race 2: Methane good performance when storming home for a nice second last start and is he gets his chance to bounce back for a win under the in-form apprentice Jerry Chau. Superbella flew home late last start and must be respected. Bright Vision placed last start and looks a chance to run well again, with a win seemingly not too far off. Winning Volatility last run was better than it reads and do not dismiss, could inject some value into the exotics here. Red Elysees good performance when returning to form last start.

Race 3: Grateful Heart racing consistently of late and expect another big run. Will finds this easier than last start and he looks very hard to beat in this race. Shining Ace has a chance based on past form in this class of race and Moreira rides him over the stable mate Wind N Grass, who’s racing well with excellent sectional time rankings and should relish the switch back to Happy Valley. Flying Genius rises in class and meets some better horses but is in good form and should remain competitive. Massive Pocket is capable of running a fast final 400m sectional time and look for him to swoop late here.

Race 4: Saul’s Special always finishes close up and must be rated a chance with Purton in the saddle and drawn well in barrier No 2 to suit his on-pace profile. Keep You Warm has been placed last three starts, deserves a win soon and should be going close to winning with luck in running. Heart Conquered not tested in recent trial, looks very well and should run a good race first-up. Nordic Wellstar go on solid previous efforts where form looked okay as last start was terrible. Can bounce back. Larson big jockey change with Moreira in the saddle and expect improvement.

Race 5: Jolly Good Heart drawn well here in barrier 2 and should be in the finish and gets his chance to breakthrough. Jiangxi Stamina racing well with excellent sectional time rankings. Sea Elite improving type and getting close to a win after placing third in his last two races. Universal Go Go is capable of running a fast final 400m sectional time and will likely be rid- den cold from the wide barrier. Hero Star well supported last start and won accordingly – should be going close again.

Race 6: Peak To Peak should begin fast and will be trying to lead all the way and strikes a highly winnable race to score a maiden win in. Goodluck Goodluck drawn well in barrier 1 which will suit his pattern and he can improve off last start’s failure. Star Of Wuyi narrowly beaten last start and goes close here with some luck in running from barrier 10. Mr Lumieres looks ready to run a big race in Class 4. Gratwick showed good speed to lead last start and gave a good sight and could play apart in the finish again.

Race 7: Glorious Lover remains a maiden galloper but clearly gets a chance to win here after going close in his last six starts. Won’t have many excuses from barrier No 3 and Purton remains in the saddle. King Dragon racing well with excellent sectional time rankings. Swot Troopers Wind recent runs have been encouraging and can run well up in trip. Aca Power video replay showed last run was very good and he could surprise at odds here. Rainbow Light best run to date was last start and appears to be improving.

Race 8: Kinda Cool good performance when storming home for a nice second last start, comes into a much better barrier and finds himself in a winnable race. Aurora Pegasus looks overdue for a win and enters this race in good form and he stands out as the other top winning chance. Alcari racing well with good sectional time rankings recently and looks for a big run late. Amazing News resuming from a break and the recent trial was okay – has improvement to come. Mehboob not tested in recent trial and looks very well. Can go well fresh.

Race 9: Romantic Combo recent barrier trial at Happy Valley was impressive, suggesting a big run can be expected and he gets his chance to shed his maiden tag boasting strong Sha Tin form. Helene Wisdom Star was eased early before catching the eye late and he’s on the verge of a maiden victory. Telecom Fighters showed good speed to lead last start and gave a good sight – expect the same here. Incanto Prepared is capable of running a fast final 400m sectional time but needs some luck from the draw. Armor Star ran the third fastest sectional time last start – place chance at odds.
