Race-by-race analysis of all 11 races to be run at Sha Tine Racecourse in Hong Kong on Sunday.
Race 1: Circuit Nine turned in a very nice debut run and looks to have good ability. He faces no tougher task second-up and should relish the 1200m even more. The one to beat. Young Sparkle looks a solid good chance based on his last-start third place and expect further improvement with Moreira in the saddle. Lucky Banner second start and will be fitter and can improve. Our Precious has been very well pre- pared with several trials, watch the betting.
Race 2: Victory Scholars caught wide last start and still ran well for second place. He comes into barrier 3 from 10 and should be hard to beat under Purton. Great For You has trialled well for debut and should be rated a chance stepping away from barrier 1. Double Show blinkers have been added and can surprise from his low draw. Bundle Of Charm newcomer who has trialled well for debut, however his barrier manners look suspect after bounding out in his Hong Kong trials and in one his Australian hit outs. All Is Good having second start and can improve with experience.
Race 3: Super Sunny Sing newcomer who has trialled well for debut and he has drawn perfectly for the straight course under Moreira. He will be favoured to win first-up. Noble One last run suggested a win was very near and race experience can hold him in good stead over the newcomer. Jumbo Legend had genuine excuses last start when badly held up at a crucial stage in the race. Fabulous Eight should be highly suited by the drop back in distance. El Jefe generally gets back in the running but dashes strongly home.
Race 4: Righteous Doctrine drops down in grade and start following. Key jockey booking with Purton taking the ride and he looks primed for improvement. Amazing Victory recent runs have been encouraging and can run well having drawn ideally low in stall 12. Tycoon Jewellery from astute yard and watch betting support on debut. His trials have been pass marks. Sure Joyful ran the third fastest sectional time last start for a better run that it reads. Wide Blue Yonder good performance when storming home for third place last start but barrier 13 appears awkward here.
Race 5: Young Life Forever having second start and can improve with experience after he was in the market first-up but clearly needed the run, fading late in the straight. From his low draw, he can map well and is in with a chance. Kasa Papa well prepared for debut and looks good enough to measure up. Power Koepp more than capable of winning again in this race after a nice win over 1000m last start, however the wide draw is the query. Ready To Win well-placed and looks a chance in a race like this after not much luck recently. Star Brite faded late last start, chance to improve under right race shape.
Race 6: Senor Toba posted an impressive G3 victory over this distance last time and he looks Hong Kong’s best stayer in the making. He can land his first G1 in the jurisdiction here. Panfield good performance when storming home for third place last start, needs to back it up here if to press on to Japan. Butterfield every chance last start but still ran a good race and he’s in with a chance again under Purton. Russian Emperor will get his chance to bounce back here if good enough, but his G1 win three starts ago is looking suspect. Tourbillon Diamond good performance when returning to form last start, drawn well to map ideally but a win would surprise.
Race 7: Eternal Bloom last run was better than it reads in a slowly run race and he looked well when not tested in a recent trial. Harmony Win Win drops down in grade and start following, hard to knock the rich vein of form Whyte & Hewitson are in. Stunning Impact remains a maiden galloper but clearly gets a chance to win here from his low draw and with Moreira in the saddle. My Intelligent form is good and must be rated a solid chance with luck from a wide draw. Plikclone finished powerfully with fastest sectional time ranking last start, but he also needs luck from out in the carpark.
Race 8: Beauty Live last run was better than it reads and don’t dismiss. He looks hard to beat coming into a low draw. Circuit Stellar has had no luck last start when checked in the straight. He’s overdue for a win and will be going close to winning. Golden Empire nice horse who is a model of consistency and looks a chance in a wide-open race. Oriental Smoke last start winner who rises in class, but he can measure up. Storm Legend improving type and getting close to a win, have to keep safe in the number.
Race 9: Sight Success recent barrier trial was impressive, suggesting a good run can be expected in a wide-open G3 contest. Sky Field has a great record second-up and expect a good run if he can overcome top weight. Cordyceps Six smart three-year-old who faces his biggest test but looks more than capable of measuring up on the light weight. Super Wealthy has shown ability and gets his chance to win here and with Purton in the saddle, expect improvement. Lucky Patch had excuses last start when racing wide without cover, expect him to perform better from barrier 1 second-up here.
Race 10: Royal Bomb looks overdue for a win and enters this race in good form, he has to be going close here on his recent slew of placings. Bourbonaire has been steadily improving and do not dismiss. With Purton in the saddle, he should be ready to win. Leading Fortune nice horse who is a model of consistency and looks a chance, as always, from his low draw. Maldives ultra-consistent galloper who can play a part in the finish with some luck in running. Rise Brethren has shown ability and gets his chance to win.
Race 11: Many chances here but Victory Park improving type and getting close to a win after his impressive last-start third place. Five G Patch best run to date was last start and appears to be improving but he will need favours from the wide draw. Copartner Elites racing consistently of late and expect another big run, the wide draw and top weight are the queries. Superbella showed good speed to lead last start and gave a good sight, expect the same. S J Tourbillon last run was better than it reads and do not dismiss.
